Preamble

As protectors of health, dietitians shall devote themselves to providing nutrition service for all people to enjoy a healthy life. They shall particularly take the lead in realizing a genuine welfare society by striving to improve the nutrition status of the poor and isolated people.

Dietitians shall provide equal service regardless of nationality, race, religion, age, and social status, and act with honor and conscience to protect the health of people.

Dietitians shall make effort to learn the latest knowledge and technology to provide the best nutrition service, and to keep the dignity and pride as a professional.

To do this, we enact the code of conduct for dietitians who are in charge of the health and welfare for people including individual, family, social groups, communities or even the whole nation. We shall take an oath to abide by this code of conduct anywhere anytime.

Code of Ethics

A. General Duties and Rights
  1. Dietitians shall devote themselves to providing nutrition service for all people to lead a healthy life. They shall
    particularly take the lead in improving the nutrition status of the poor and isolated people.
  2. Dietitians shall exert efforts to acquire the latest knowledge and learn the latest technology to provide the best nutrition service, and to keep the dignity and pride as a professional
  3. Dietitians shall prioritize the health and life of people over personal benefits, and shall not earn wrongful
    income in relation to the practice.
  4. Dietitians shall actively participate in the activities of KDA, and exert efforts to improve the rights and interests
    ofdietitians.
B. Vocational Attitude
  1. Dietitians shall do their best to learn, utilize, and spread the latest knowledge and technology to provide
    customers with the best nutrition service.
  2. Dietitians shall not injure their reputation by themselves, and never involve in anything to make people lose
    their confidence in dietitians.
  3. Dietitians shall exert efforts to take the proper education and training to maintain their qualification for the
    purpose of providing the best service.
  4. Dietitians shall provide equal service to people irrespective of nationality, race, religion, age, thought, and
    social status.
  5. The information gained from customers shall be used only for people's health improvement and for research,
    and shall never be used for any personal purpose.
  6. Dietitians shall never compromise with any injustice or immoral conduct, and shall be responsible for anything
    given to them as a health protector for people.
  7. Dietitians shall respect the roles of other health and medical professionals, and cooperate with them.
  8. Dietitians shall provide only the exact information based on scientific facts.
C. Roles and Duties for Society and Country
  1. Dietitians shall do their best in academic research and technology development to promote the health of the
    community, country and the human race, to improve qualify of life, and to realize a genuine welfare society.
  2. Dietitians shall participate in nutrition improvement projects for people and support the national nutrition
    policy-making and its enforcement with their practical experience and professional knowledge.
  3. Dietitians shall be interested in the nutrition issues in their communities, and shall try to solve those problems.
D. Duties for KDA
  1. Dietitians shall exert efforts to improve the status of the profession as a dietitian by actively participating in the
    activities of KDA, and cooperate with other members.
  2. Dietitians shall exert efforts to help KDA to achieve progress and its business goals by abiding by the rules and
    codes and doing their best in their tasks.
  3. Dietitians shall report to the KDA any violation of the code of conduct for dietitians.
