KDA is running the 'Certificated Dietetic Specialists System' to encourage work efficiency and to improve the status of dietitians, producing clinical dietitians, meal service dietitians, and public health dietitians.

Clinical Dietitians

Definition
  1. ‘Clinical dietitian' refers to the dietitian who provides the nutrition treatment to cure and prevent diseases.
  2. 'Nutrition treatment' includes 'nutrition evaluation', 'examination on nutrition status' ,'consulting and
    education on nutrition' and 'nutrition support'.
Qualification for Clinical Dietitians
  1. Those who obtained Dietitian's License, worked for more than a year as a dietitian (inclusive of internship),
    completed Clinical Nutrition Course, and passed the qualification exam for clinical dietitians.
  2. Those who obtained Dietitian's License, received at least the master degree in nutrition-related field,
    worked for at least six month as a dietitian(inclusive of internship), and passed the qualification exam for
    clinical dietitians authorized by KDA.
  3. Those who obtained local Dietitian's License, have the overseas dietitian's license which is approved
    by KDA, and have practical experience as a dietitian.
Validity of Qualification

To keep the qualification as a clinical dietitian, one should keep the membership of KDA during the qualification period, and get maintenance education (20 points for three years).

Food Service Manager

Definition
  1. 'Food Service Manager' refers to the dietitian who is engaged in meal service to provide the nutrition service.
  2. 'Food service' includes the works related to nutrition, menu, sanitation, production, cost, personnel, service and marketing.
Qualification for Clinical Dietitians
  1. Those who obtained Dietitian's License, worked for more than a year as a dietitian(inclusive of internship), completed Meal Service Course authorized by KDA, and passed the qualification exam for meal service management dietitians.
  2. Those who obtained Dietitian's License, received at least the master degree in nutrition and food service-related field (should gain at least 12 credits in the field), worked for at least six month as a dietitian (inclusive of internship), and passed the qualification exam for meal service management dietitians authorized by KDA.
  3. Those who obtained local Dietitian's License, have the overseas dietitian's license which is approved by KDA, and have practical experience as a dietitian.
Validity of Qualification

To keep the qualification as a clinical dietitian, one should keep the membership of KDA during the qualification period, and get maintenance education( 20 points for three years).

Occupational Health

Definition
  1. 'Occupational Health' refers to the dietitian who provides professional nutrition service to prevent the disease and to improve the health of workers.
Qualification
  1. Those who obtained Dietitian's License, worked for more than a year as a dietitian (inclusive of internship), completed Educational Course of Occupational Heath Dietitians authorized by KDA, and passed the qualification exam for public health dietitians
  2. Those who obtained Dietitian's License, received at least the master degree in public health-related field, worked for at least six month as a dietitian(inclusive of internship), and passed the qualification exam for public health dietitians authorized by KDA.
  3. Those who obtained local Dietitian's License, have the overseas dietitian's license which is approved by KDA, and have practical experience as a dietitian.
